The triple bypass (3BP) kit for the Sega Genesis does 3 different things.  Depending on what model of the Sega Genesis you have, 1 or more of these will apply to your console:

• RGB bypass - use modern THS7374 RGB amp in place of the stock Sony CXA RGB amp with cleaner output and control over LPF
• Integrated MegaAMP 2.0 - restore the audio quality to the same high quality as the original Sega Genesis
• 9 pin mini DIN port - replace the 8 pin DIN port found in Sega Genesis 1 with a more common 9 pin miniDIN port found in the Sega Genesis 2. This will also enable stereo output from the back of the console

A comprehensive install includes the following:

• Install the 3BP kit in your Sega Genesis 2 enabling 1 or more of the above features to maximize the video/audio/compatibility of the console
• In Sega Genesis 3 VA1 the following functionality will also be restored: 32X, Virtua Racing, Game Genie and SMS support
• system cleanup and verification

• A working Sega Genesis system must be provided; if you are searching for one to purchase, the Sega Genesis 2 is a good system for this mod
